Goodbye MJ (1956-2009)

Michael Jackson died suddenly Thursday after suffering what doctors suspect was sudden cardiac arrest at his home. He was 50 years old. An autopsy is scheduled to be performed today in Los Angeles. It could be some time before a final cause of death is determined because toxicology tests take weeks to complete. In the meantime, people all over the world are mourning the King of Pop's passing.

Paramedics were called to the scene about 12:30 pm and found that he had no pulse. He was taken to UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles where his family began to gather. He was rehearsing for an upcoming concert at the time of his death.

Stunned crowds began assembling at the hospital where Jackson was taken as soon as they heard the news.

Michael Jackson had a history of health problems dating back to 1983 when his scalp was burned while filming a Pepsi commercial. It was that injury that was said to have led to an addition to painkillers. He was hospitalized in 1993 with chest pains and postponed a concert tour that year due to dehydration. There were rumors about health issues affecting rehearsals for his upcoming tour.

Najib sworn in as Prime Minister!!

Today (3th of April 2009)

Congratulation to Najib!!

09.30am: Ministers and officials are gathering at Istana Negara. Former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad also arrives at the Palace.

09.45am: Abdullah and Najib arrive at Istana Negara.

09.55am: King arrives for swearing in ceremony.

10.10am: Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak sworn in as Prime Minister in front of Yang diPertuan Agung Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin at Istana Negara. The swearing in ceremony was witnessed by the two previous Prime Ministers, Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, and Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.

10.23am: Abdullah conferred the Darjah Seri Maharaja Mangku Negara which carries the title Tun.

10.25am: Abdullah’s wife Jeanne conferred the Darjah Seri Setia Mahkota Negara, which also carries the title Tun.

10.27am: Swearing in ceremony of Najib as PM ends.

KUALA LUMPUR: Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak is scheduled to be sworn in as Prime Minister on Friday before the Yang di Pertuan Agong Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin at Istana Negara.

The King had consented to the appointment of Najib as the sixth Prime Minister of Malaysia, Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Mohd Sidek Hassan had said.

He said in a statement Thursday that Najib would be presented his letter of appointment as Prime Minister and would take his oath of office, loyalty and confidentiality before the King at Istana Negara.

On Thursday, Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi sought an audience with Tuanku Mizan where he conveyed his intention to relinquish the Prime Minister’s post and sought the King’s consent for Najib to become the next Prime Minister.
